Theresa Vaccaro

This is a picture of my great grandmother, Theresa Vaccaro, when she was a little girl (shes the girl holding the umbrella in the front row on the right). Her parents, Natale Vaccaro and Mary Josephine Russo (back row). And the little boy, standing with his father, is my great great uncle, George Vaccaro (Theresa's brother).
Nothing is known about this picture unforatunately. All I know is that Theresa was the oldest out of 10 siblings (2 of her siblings died when they were young). She went up to the 8th grade because she had to take care of her siblings. The 2 youngest daughters, Lucy and Anna (who are still alive today), used to call her "Mom".
Again, if it wasn't for my grandfather keeping this picture and other pictures I wouldn't have this right now. So thanks grandpa.
PS. Theresa had my grandfather.

  1. This is a wonderful treasure! Natale Vaccaro paid the passage for his cousin, Francesco, to come to America. Francesco is my husband's great grandfather. Thank you Natale!!
